DVD Audition Requirements

REQUIRED DVD AUDITION CONTENT (DVD ONLY)

All candidates must be 15-20 years of age on the 31st August in the year in which they intend to start the course.

DVD’S SHOULD NOT EXCEED 30 MINUTES
DVD Audition fee $15

Photos
One close-up shot of face and 3 full body position photographs that best displays the candidates talents.

Barre Work
Please position the camera in front of the applicant to show FULL range of movements. Left and right sides of all exercises must be shown.

Fifteen minutes (in total) of Barre Work to cover:
1) pliés and ports de bras
2) tendus and glissés
3) ronds de jambe à terre and en l'air
4) adage and fondus
5) grands battements

Centre Work
Please position the camera in front of the applicant to show FULL range of movements. Left and right sides of all exercises must be shown.

1) Centre work must show battement tendu combined with battement tendu jeté in croisé, en face effacé, devant and derrière
2) Adage must include grands ronds de jambe, a promenade in either à la seconde or arabesque, and a penché in 1st arabesque
3) Pirouettes may be from 5th, 2nd, or 4th position, en dehors and en dedans

Allegro
1) one enchaînment terre à terre (quick steps)
2) one enchaînment showing batterie
3) one enchaînment showing travelling jumps tour en l'air, single or double (boys)

Pointe Work
Five minutes (minimum) of Pointe Work to include:
1) simple échappé relevé in 2nd and 4th, retiré relevé and passé relevé
2) simple pirouettes from 4th position
3) courus en diagonale
4) diagonale of piqué turns

Solo
Classical solo to be included if possible
1) in performance or in the studio (at end of video)
