The National Ballet Academy of
Denver's Trainee Program offers a four year course in classical ballet
training for students between the ages of 15-20 years old and who have
shown potential to become professional dancers. The program runs in
conjunction with the schedules of both the Academy and Company.
Students will not only study classical ballet but other subjects such as
Pas de deux, Solos,Repertoire, Character, Contemporary, Make-up, and
Body Conditioning. students gain performance experience by performing
with the National Ballet of Denver, and as a touring group.
The National Ballet Academy of Denver's Trainee Program teaches skills
which assists the students to become professional dancers. In this
pre-professional program, the students rehearse and perform classical
and neo- classical dance pieces that are chosen from the National Ballet
of Denver's repertoire. Observation is an important aspect of a young
dancer's education - training in the same building as the National
Ballet of Denver offers direct exposure to Company, rehearsals and
performances. Trainees perform in both Company and Academy performances.
The purpose of the Trainee Program is to produce graduates who are
capable of integrating effortlessly into The National Ballet of Denver
and other top professional dance companies.
Our goal is to provide the Trainees with experiences to help ease their
transition from student to professional dancers, build confidence, and
increase stage experience. Participation in the Trainee program is by
invitation only. Auditions for the Trainee Program takes place during
the Spring.
